Weather & packing

  1. Summer days are mild but evenings in the hills stay cool. Carry a light jacket even in May and June.
  2. From December to February nights drop below freezing and Kufri, Solang, Dalhousie and Khajjiar can be under snow. Pack thermals, a warm jacket, gloves and a cap.
  3. Shoes with good grip matter more than extra jackets, especially in snow at Solang.
  4. Carry sunscreen and sunglasses. The mountain sun is strong and snow reflects it.

Where do the trips start and end?

Every package starts in Delhi or Chandigarh, with pickup from the airport, railway station or bus stand. Most trips end back in Delhi or Chandigarh, while the 5 Nights 6 Days Dharamshala, Dalhousie & Amritsar tour, the 8 Nights 9 Days Royal Himachal tour and the 9 Nights 10 Days tour end in Amritsar with drop at the airport or railway station. It is a private trip in your own cab, so you pick the start date. Delhi to Shimla takes about 7-8 hours by road and Chandigarh to Shimla about 3-4 hours.

What is included in the price?

A private cab for the full trip, hotel stays on twin-sharing basis, daily breakfast and dinner, sightseeing as per the itinerary, tolls, parking, driver allowance and fuel. GST, flights or trains, lunch, entry tickets, adventure activities and the Rohtang / Atal Tunnel excursion are not included.

Is Rohtang Pass included?

No. Rohtang Pass, Atal Tunnel and Sissu are optional and depend on the NGT permit and the road being open. They are usually booked on the day by local Manali taxi and paid directly. Solang Valley is part of every Manali package.

What does the Royal Himachal package cover?

It is our longest tour: 2 nights in Shimla, 3 nights in Manali, then 1 night each in Dharamshala, Dalhousie and Amritsar. You see Kufri, Solang Valley, McLeod Ganj, Khajjiar, the Golden Temple and the Wagah border ceremony in one trip, all in the same private cab.

Which month is best for Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala and Dalhousie?

March to June and September to November are pleasant for sightseeing. December to February is cold with a good chance of snow at Kufri, Solang, Dalhousie and Khajjiar, though some roads can close after heavy snowfall. July and August bring monsoon rain and landslide risk, and Dharamshala gets some of the heaviest rain in the state.

Which cab will we get?

The cab depends on group size: a sedan such as a Dzire for 2-3 travellers, an Ertiga or Innova for 4-6, and a Tempo Traveller for larger groups. Upgrades to an Innova Crysta are available on request.

Can I customise the trip or travel as a bigger group?

Yes. You can change the number of nights, add Kasol, Chail or Kasauli, combine any two packages and upgrade hotels. Larger groups get a lower per-person price. Tell us your dates and group size and we will share a quote.
